Kentucky State Taxes
Can you talk a little bit about taxes and is it true there's a lot of taxes to pay in Kentucky, Nurse Juan?
I think everywhere in the US there's a lot of taxes here, but you don't really feel it because salary wise, you're getting paid more. So I just try not to think about it really. In my paycheck normally gets like 20% to 30% like, that's how I feel. I'm not really good with numbers but the other thing is removed from your paycheck like your health insurance, your I think Medicare contributions and other things. So but I think that's like a basic package for anywhere in the US.
Unfortunately, taxes are part of life. Mirella, what's your and your feedback on taxes?
Here actually Louisville, I had to experience that I had to pay like the federal taxes for the United States and we had to pay the Kentucky taxes and the Louisville taxes. So it's three taxes that we are paying here so that taxes will be getting out of your like paycheck. And besides that like Juan was saying you also have insurance and other stuff that you need it. But one thing that I would advise if you want to have like an idea how much is going to be your paycheck, I would advise you to look for the website called smartasset.com you can go there and put your location or whatever other place in the United States and you put them out of your paycheck, your ER (employer taxes) amount of paycheck, and then they will have, like, how much you will get like bi-weekly or monthly. So that's a good thing to know if you want to know how much you will have actually at the end.
Okay, so that's a great tool, and we'll put that into the chat for everybody so that they can also check out the taxes and that might answer JC and Brian's question about how much is your monthly expenditure and give you a lot of insight in that.
I think just generally speaking, though, just to say that Kentucky's generally known as a more reasonable state to live in from a taxes perspective so even though we you have taxes and it's certainly not like living in California or New York where the taxes are much higher so I think that is really helpful.
