Visa Bulletin Latest Update February 2022

Category:

Tanya Freedman, CEO Connetics USA: Denise, can you tell us about the latest Visa Bulletin and where we are right now?

Denise Gavica Perez, Immigration Attorney: So as I'm sure Chris and Sang will agree, the bulletin is as favorable as it ever has been. It's really working in our favor to be able to bring in nurses and other professionals to the US.

So, the Visa Bulletin, for those of you who are not familiar with it, the US Department of State provides this to the public as a way of letting us know and this is a very general explanation. If there are immigrant visas available for certain countries, there's a section called All Chargeability Areas that's all countries other than the ones that are listed, like India, the Philippines, and Mexico, which are usually the countries that request the most immigrant visas. So it's basically for us and forgive me, the Bible as far as letting us know when the person is going to be able to enter the United States and the nurses fall under Schedule A workers.

And right now, it's just very favorable and there are immigrant visas available for many and for those that certain countries that are oversubscribed where they don't have sufficient immigrant visas at this time, many of them are able to retain the priority dates from prior filings for those of you who have I-140 filed in the past.

But anyway, the Visa Bulletin is basically a guide letting us know how soon we should expect immigrant visas to become available or if they are available, for people from certain countries to be able to enter the United States and it gives us an idea. We gauge ourselves giving advice as far as when we expect the visa to become available by analyzing the Visa Bulletin.

So that's a very general overview. Okay.

Tanya Freedman, CEO Connetics USA Nursing Recruitment Agency: Well, thank you for that overview. And the good news is, Denise said, is probably there's never been a better time to come to the United States, right? Yes, absolutely. So there is a lot of opportunity for those of you who are watching, who have not yet passed your NCLEX, have not yet even started this journey. Get started. Check out the Connetics USA website. We have our success path on the website, and it tells you the steps that you need to take in order to come and live and work in the United States. But as Denise said, from an immigration perspective, there really is no better time than right now.
