Filipino Community in Florida

Is there any Filipino community in Florida?

We've just been a previous weekend into film fest, it's a Filipino festival this happens every year. And if you go to Facebook, even if you're not in Florida yet, go to Facebook search for Filipino communities in Florida. There's plenty of them. They can give you advice and I'm a member of most of the groups anyway. There's plenty of help around this area, Filipino fast foods, Filipino restaurants and yeah, it's everywhere here in Florida.

Grace, I know you've been there for a very short time. Have you had an opportunity to get a feel about the community and what kind of community there is around for you?

Actually, we had a lot of support from the church. We got connected to the one of the churches here, which is my local language church. So they were a big support to us. So we used to reach out to them for any guidance, like whatever, residents or advisors which we needed. So that was a big support. Other than that, we see a lot of whites, a lot of Spanish speaking people. So even the patient population we get is a good mix of all of the communities.
